The national lung cancer screening program is aimed at detecting lung cancer in high risk individuals without any symptoms. Eligibility is based on age and smoking history. Patients aged between 50 and 70 with a history of tobacco cigarette smoking of at least 30 pack years are eligible. A lung function test (spirometry) may also be performed
